County Consolidation?
According to Omaha Senator Pahls it should happen. As introduced in LB 826 and discussed in this paper from the Platte Institute for Economic Research, folks in Howard County would need to travel to Grand Island, in order to conduct County business.

What if we like the sound of it? It makes lots of sense and would save us lots of cents with several fewer county gov't employees and lower property taxes.
